Cuvee Josephine is the prestige cuvee of the house of Joseph Perrier. The 2002 vintage is made up from a blend of only grand cru and premier cru villages and from 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir.
Cuvee Jospehine is presented in a highly decorable bottle, inspired by an old hand-painted magnum found deep in the cellars by Jean-Claude Fourmon. The wine is pale gold with hints of green and with a rich steady bead. It has notes of flowers on the nose along with intriguing fresh tropical fruit suggestions and a touch of brioche. The palate shows some tightness of structure with layers of concentrated ripe fruits, spice and patisserie over a clear backbone which promises a long life. This is certainly a star in development.
